At SAP, I was involved with both human factor engineering and interface/interaction design work because of my broad background and interests in the whole user-centered design process. Please see below to get a sense of my work at SAP.

 

Designing Desktop Application

In this project, I designed the interface and interaction of a desktop application for SAP Sales Account Executives. The application provides a search and a refine search interface which eventually lead users to the content they need. Besides, the application supports information re-use through personal content collection and tagging. Wireframes and behavior specifications were developed for communication.

 

Conducting Usability Testing

I participated in the remote usability testing that focused on evaluating the navigation and information architecture of the redesign of a corporate portal section. My job included recruiting participants, facilitating the usability testing session, collecting and analyzing user data.

 

Researching Persona Template and Usage

The User Experience team is trying to develop a new format of personas which would better help designers, project managers, and user researchers to use within the project team. I researched on typical formats and the usage of persona and designed a new template which capture not only individual's goal and behavior patterns, but also the significant organizational factors that will significantly influence the usage of the enterprise software. The template also provides the affordance of annotation and will grow overtime during the design process.

 

Researching Emerging Technology

I was responsible for researching the potential usage of social tagging on the corporate portal. I performed an extensive literature review and wrote a report for both the project managers and the user experience team. The report covered the introduction of social tagging, the potential use cases and limitations, industry best practices, and design guidelines.

 

Supporting day-to-day design activities

Tasks included creating web page mock-ups, prototypes, use cases, style guides, and sitemaps.
